Beaumaris Castle’s Easter Eggstravaganza is back for a fun weekend for all!
The castle welcomes warrior knights who'll be portraying life as it was back in medieval Wales.
Come and join in with the fun, and learn how knights prepared for battle, how armour was worn and how weapons were used against an armoured knight.
Watch the archers show off their skills with a bow and discover why they were so feared on the battlefield.
Join the circus workshops for young and old to try some new tricks, and watch the castle jester as he entertains you with his death defying tricks that will wow the crowd.
Listen to the musicians as they roam the castle playing beautiful plygain music, and keep an eye out for the birds of prey, with flying demonstrations and talks on how they were used to hunt.
Look out for the castle’s executioner, with his gruesome tools of torture and stories about how the truth was extracted from prisoners.
There'll also be an Easter Egg Hunt on both days, where you can find the clues, work out the answer and escape the castle to claim your prize.
The day will culminate in a main battle between Gerard de Rhodes and Captain Nicholas Horton, accompanied by their men and archers. Things won't be going well for Captain Horton, and he'll need to recruit more knights from the crowd! Children aged thirteen and under will be invited to join the Captain’s ranks to help defeat Sir Gerard and his knights.
